Welcome to Oak Hill Boys Ranch
The Oak Hill Boys Ranch has been operating since 1961 and has evolved into a highly comprehensive residential treatment program. The program offers a broad range of services based on a systematic model that therapeutically engages young people and their families; guiding them towards successful futures.
The Oak Hill Boys Ranch is located on 160 acres of beautiful tree-lined property that is strategically located in a rural setting approximately 25 km North of Edmonton. near the Town of Bon Accord. The quiet country atmosphere provides a relaxing setting that enhances the therapeutic nature of the services provided.
The Ranch features outstanding living, educational, and recreational facilities. Young people reside in one of four residences: Kicking Horse Lodge, Athabasca House, Jasper House, and Whitehorse Lodge. Each residence has their own specialized milieu based on a continuum of services designed to meet the developmental needs of young people. The living facilities include a contemporary building emphasizing safety, two rustic cedar log homes, and a 4-bedroom bungalow. The school facility offers three spacious classrooms, industrial arts shop,full size gymnasium, and a state-of-the-art computer and technology centre. Recreation facilities include horse trails, an outdoor basket ball court, ice rink, cross country ski trails, an outdoor volley ball court, an adventure-based challenge trail, two sweat lodges, a tee pee, and two large sports fields for baseball, football and soccer.
These facilities provide the infrastructure for a comprehensive package of services that include: Milieu therapy, educational programming, Aboriginal awareness and cultural activities, recreation and fitness, horseback riding, farming, animal care, and outdoor adventures. Individual, family, and group therapy are also offered.
